Holy Father Benedict XVI at the incensing of the altar during the Holy Mass celebrated in Saint Peter’s Square on October 21, 2012, during which he canonized seven saints. It was the first time, since the John Paul II’s single use case, that a pope wore the fanon, a white silk cape adorned with gold and narrower red stripes, over the chasuble.
