Outgoing of the procession of Corpus Christi from the Cathedral of Saint Mary Major, led by the Patriarch of Lisbon, José Sebastião Cardinal Neto O.F.M. Disc. in year 1907. The first pole of the canopy carried over the Blessed Sacrament is held by the King of Portugal, Carlos I, called the Diplomat or the Martyr. The photograph shows a patriarchal falda, which, next to the fans also visible in the photo, was one of the unique privileges of the Archbishop of Lisbon, imitating the liturgy of the Pope.
