Chasuble from Salzburg

sc162090A Medieval chasuble (11th century) from the Benedictine Archabbey of St. Peter in Salzburg. It is made of dark blue and black silk, and adorned with a forked cross woven with golden thread with representations of animals as well as with the inscription running along its edge: HANC VESTEM CLARAM PETRI PATRAVIT AD ARAM HEINRICH PECCATOR EIUS SIT UT AUXILIATOR.
