Holyoke

Bishop Christopher Joseph Weldon, Ordinary of the diocese of Springfield in Massachusetts, after the dedication ceremony of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Holyoke, kneeling to let the little boy kiss his ring, June 1, 1953. The picture clearly shows a train of a choir cassock held by an altar server standing behind the prelate. Before receiving his episcopal nomination, Fr. Weldon was the master of ceremonies of Cardinal Francis Spellman.
