Afterwards, in the mitre\u00a0<em>simplex<\/em> and with the crosier in his hand, he blesses salt and water \u00a0in the following way: after the calling <em>Adjutorium nostrum<\/em> he exorcises the salt; having taken the mitre off and without the crosier he starts the dialogue <em>Domine, exaudi<\/em> and <em>Dominus vobiscum<\/em>, after which, with his hands folded, he prays a prayer. After it is finished he intones an antiphon and the choir sings the psalm 86: in this time the bishop sprinkles the foundations of the church (or the place set for them). Having reached the 1\/3 of their circumference, he stops, the choir repeats the antiphon, while the bishop without the mitre prays a prayer, preceded by kneeling on the call of the deacon <em>Flectamus genua<\/em>. The bishop intones another antiphon, which is taken up by the choir, and in the mitre he sprinkles another third part of the foundations: he stops and prays a prayer, in which he blesses three times the place set for the church. Afterwards he intones an antiphon, after which the psalm 121 is sung, and he sprinkles the last part of the foundations. After the hymn he asks God to send his Spirit on this \u201chouse that is being built\u201d to \u201csanctify and purify the hearts\u201d of the faithful in it. Later on, he prays a prayer, after which he sits on the faldstool in the mitre; a sermon preached by the bishop or a chosen priest dressed in a surplice, a white stole and a biretta takes place. In the end the bishop gives a solemn benediction and the deacon announces the form of the indulgence granted by the ordinary to all who took part in the ceremony. Afterwards <em>Te Deum<\/em> may be sung. After the consecration a Mass (a votive proper to the name of the nascent church) may be celebrated by the bishop or another priest.
