The future priests perform their prostration on the Le Tapis du Ch\u0153ur<\/em>, also known as Le Drap d\u2019Or<\/em>, that is, a massive tapestry commissioned by King Charles X of France to cover the floor of the cathedral choir after its reconstruction. The original design was later modified by his successor, Louis Philippe I, who, in the aftermath of the July Revolution, ordered the removal of part of the monarchist symbolism.<\/p>\n
