Card. Boggiani
Tommaso Pio Cardinal Boggiani O.P. in a choir dress characteristic to prelates belonging to the Order of Preachers, i.e. in a white cassock and a black mozzetta and mantelletta with white laps and hems. He was born in Bosco Marengo – the birthplace of St. Pius V. It was the fervent worship of his great compatriot that prompted the future cardinal to become a Dominican and adopted as the second, religious name, the name Pius. Card. Boggiani was a close associate of St. Pius X, an enemy of modernism and communism, which caused him countless sorrows from liberal believers and clergy.
