Two photographs from the Holy Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI on the Feast of Pentecost in A.D. 2008. It was the only occasion on which this beautiful red chasuble was used – more ample than the typical Roman “fiddleback” chasuble and recalling in its shape the form promoted by St. Charles Borromeo. Added to this was Benedict’s first pallium, which complemented the whole splendidly.
