And this is what Poland is

3 May

A High Pontifical Mass in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Warsaw on May 3, 1936, on the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of the Polish Crown. On the right side of the presbytery, under the balcony, sits the President of the Republic of Poland, Ignacy Mościcki, and to his left, the Papal Nuncio, Cardinal Francesco Marmaggi. As the celebration took place after Easter, one can observe the traditional Polish altar arrangement characteristic of this liturgical period: the Paschal candle placed on the Gospel side and the crucifix bound with a crossed stole on the Epistle side.
