Adoratio crucis

The Archbishop of Lima Juan Landázuri Ricketts O.F.M. adoring the cross during the service on Good Friday. The bishop celebrating the liturgy did this only by removing his chasuble, i.e. in dalmatics and tunic. The calotte visible in the picture is not an abuse, because the Caeremoniale Episcoporum says only to take off the mitre. However, according to an unwritten custom saying that the zucchetto should be removed while kissing the crucifix, this situation was rather an exception.
