Faith and freedom
A field Mass on the yard of the kamienica [tenement house] at 60 Marszałkowska Street, probably on the Feast of the Soldier, 15 August [the photo by Marian “Wyrwa” Grabski and the description were taken from the website: Museum of the Warsaw Uprising].
During the fights, in great danger, the field Mass was more dignified than we often see in the times of freedom. Indeed, the faith and the attitude of these people were formed at “incomprehensible Latin liturgy during which the priest stood with his back against the people.”
