Procession with the relics of St. Aloysius Gonzaga
Eugenio Cardinal Tosi, Archbishop of Milan in the years 1922 – 1929, during the procession with the relics of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, February 13, 1927. The prelate’s cope is being held by two canons of the Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mons. Buttafava and Mons. Balbian, acting as assistant deacons; hence they are dressed in dalmatics put on rochets. What attracts attention is the mitres they are wearing, a privilege enjoyed by the chapter of the aforementioned cathedral [photo from: Civico Archivio Fotografico di Milano].
