Procession with the relics of St. Aloysius Gonzaga
Eugenio Cardinal Tosi, Archbishop of Milan in the years 1922 – 1929, during a procession with the relics of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, February 13, 1927. The prelate’s cope is being held by two canons of the Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mons. Buttafava and Mons. Balbian acting as assistant deacons; hence they are dressed in dalmatics which are put on rochets. What should attract attention is the mitres they are wearing, due to a privilege enjoyed by the chapter of the aforementioned cathedral [photo from: Civico Archivio Fotografico di Milano].
